Our lives are lived at the tip and tail of the serpent,
Unified in end and origin;
Running ‘round, and round we run,
Omniscient in hindsight and forwardly obsessed.
Blindly and boldly we step ‘round the bend
Occupying the same space, treading the same ground, reliving the same odyssey,
Returning and turning and returning repeatedly,
Obligated by old orders which promised the universe,
So we daren’t dismantle the self-fulfilled cycle. We only dare to obey.
